Guild Rules
1- General Conduct

1. All rules will be obeyed by any member, despite rank, from Trial to Guild Master. This is to ensure fairness and equality is strong throughout the guild structure.

2. By becoming a member of Vicious Kittens, you have read, understood and accepted our rules policy. You will abide by these regulations, and any questions that you have can be answered by an officer.

3. All guild members must respect and help each other. This entails the following –
3.1 If an argument begins;
3.1.a Try and sort this out between yourselves. Try and do this through whispers, party chat or Ventrilo. Avoid trying to communicate through guild chat or forums, as this can lead to other people getting involved, and making things worse.
3.1.b Remember that words can often be misinterpreted, so when possible try and use ventrilo to come to an agreement.
3.1.c If both parties cannot come to a mutual agreement, then contact and officer to help, rather than /gquitting and such. Often, arguments escalate out of control before officers even hear about it. Remember not to do anything rash, and we can sort it out between both of you.
3.1.d Finally on the matter of arguments, if possible, try and keep a chat log of your discussion, with time stamps, so that we have more evidence to work with to help both people.

4. Respect all guild members, and try and help where possible.
4.1 If you need help, offer to repay this act of kindness whenever you can. By working together we build a stronger community, and through stronger communities we not only get a sense of friendship and accomplishments, but more loot!
4.2 We were all once new. Don’t forget this. If someone asks what seems to be a stupid question, help them, guild mate or not, and you are helping another become a great hero like you!
4.3 Help guild members not only through dungeon delving and questing, but if they constantly find themselves stuck, help them use tools such as wowhead.com etc. Feed a man a fish, and he can survive another day, teach him how to fish, and he can survive for a life time! (That sounded wrong, but you get the idea).

5. Remember that guild chat is like a big open table. Anyone can hear what you’re saying, so be civil and polite in guild interactions.
5.1 Remember that what may be considered normal in your country/area could be considered offensive by someone else. Think before you speak!
5.1.a Remember that everyone is or has a different nationality, culture, religion, first language and lifestyle to you! Words can be lost in translation, and you are not the center of the world!
5.2 Swearing, abbreviated or not, is seen as offensive and will be acted upon at the officers discretion. If you wish to fool around with friends, go ahead, but do so in a private vent room, or in party chat. Do not allow this to trickle through to guild chat (see 5.)

6. Behaviour outside of the guild;
6.1 Do not join in any messing (for lack of a better word) in trade chat. Remember that you wear the VK badge above your head, do your best to uphold to it. Often, we will be contacted, and can see if you have been fooling around, so a word of advice. Don’t. Infractions can occur, again at officers discretion.
6.2 In groups, remember to be helpful.
6.2.a This means no ‘ninjaing’ (if that’s a word) , items.
6.2.b No calling others, no matter how bad a player they are, offensive names. If you disagree with how the group is being run, politely say that you do not like the way the group is run, try and find a replacement, and then drop group.
6.2.c If all else fails, you can try to vote kick said player. Maybe those in you group will agree with you, and you adventures will be more enjoyable.
6.3 Do not spam chat channels
6.4 Do not beg for money or items
6.5 Do not speak abusively in chat channels.

7. If you are part of a regular raiding team, and wish to move raiding teams, or even guilds, speak to the officers at least 2 weeks beforehand, expressing your reasons for leaving, so that we can find replacements as soon as possible.
7.a The result of not talking to an officer before applying to another guild in the given time frame will result in a guild kick.
7.b Telling an officer before hand and leaving on civil terms helps your chances of a re invite if you find yourself missing VK life.

8. If you are part of a raiding team, and wish to main change characters, then you must speak to an officer beforfehand.
8.1 Your request will be spoken about at the next meeting
8.2 If your request is accepted, you will receive half your original characters initial dkp, or none, depending on officer discretion.

9 Members should do there best in adhering to the rules above. Officers have the right to, and will enforce the rules and regulations.

10Officers will enforce the rules as follows;
10 Officers will try and be fair and equal in their judgement
10 If you have any issues with how an officer has dealt with a situation, the guild master will be the ultimate arbiter on what happens.
10 Minor Offences;
10.3.a Minor Offences can include many of the issues raised above, such as points raised in 2 and 4 Sections, or skipping raids
10.3.a Minor Offences can be punished by loss of dkp and rewards, again at an officers discretion.
10.4 Major offences;
10.4.a Reoccurring minor offences can become grounds for action as a major offence
10.4.b Harassment
104.c Issues raised in point 7
10.5 Major offences can result in a big loss of dkp, eventually resulting a guild kick.
10.6 All offences will be at officer discretion, and discussed with other matters at officer meetings.
10.7 A guild kick may result in offences not appearing above if the officers see fit, again, at officer discretion.

11 Remember that officers stay often up to 2 hours after raids have finished. They do not get any personal gain, but yet do the job anyway. Try and assist your governing body as much as possible, and that helps create a healthy environment.

Aditional Notes: We also suggest that you buy a blizzard authenticator. Having all your shinys taken away from you isn’t fun!

2. Guild Structure

1. Trial
1.1 Once your application to the guild is accepted, you will be put on a 2 week trial period.
1.2 Once on trial, you will be assessed by the guild leadership to see if you are VK Material.
1.3 To pass your trial period, we recommend that you adhere to the rules in 1. General Conduct, sign for raids, turn up to raids that you sign up for, and perform your role in the raid to the best of your ability. If applying to raider rank (see 4), then we recommend that you also read the Raid Rules and Conduct later in the piece.

2.Alt
2.1 This level of hierarchy is for any characters that you wish to keep in the guild. They have the same rights as your main character in the guild.

3. Member
3.1 Member is the rank and file rank for Vicious Kittens
3.2 At Member you can request from the guild bank. If you wish to raid, sign up for raids on the raid planner.
3.2.a Remember that raiders usually get raid slot and loot priority over members.

4. Raider
4.1 Congratulations, your hitting the big time. With the rank of raider comes more privileges, but more responsibility!
4.2 You will be considered for the rank of raider by turning up for raids, abiding by raid rules and regulations, making sure that you are up to date on tactics of the bosses being run that night, and bringing all consumables needed for the nights raiding.
4.3 Now for the bonuses! You will usually get raid priority over normal members, and loot priority over trials.

5. Coin Keeper
5.1 The coin keeper is the officer in charge of the guild bank.
5.2 Any requests to the guild bank can be made through the forum section of Guild Bank Requests.
5.3 No, he will not accept bribes!

6. Officer
6.1 These officers serve the purpose of keeping the everyday matters of the guild running.
6.2 If you have an issue, and other officers are raiding, these people can help you with your problem.

7. Raid Leaders
7.1 These officers are often found delving through dungeons, standing the fire, screaming down a microphone and generally killing some bad guys.
7.2 Not only can these officers help you with in guild issues, but they have great raid experience.
7.3 If you need help with a certain class, role, or tactic these are the people to talk to.

8. Guild Master
8.1 The guild master is essentially the officer with the ultimate arbitrary power over officer decisions.
8.2 Yes, we will ensure that he has an authenticator!

9. Day to day running of the guild will be handled by officers. Any announcements or changes to guild life will be announced in the forum at viciouskittens.info

3. Raids

3. Raids are run in a social yet competitive way. We offer progressive yet fun raiding throughout the week.

3.1 If you would like to be part of a raiding team, you can sign up on the forum for which teams.
3.1.a Each team has a roster list with a rules and times section. Look there if you cannot decide which team is best for you.

3.2 You sign up for a raid on the Raid Planner section of the website.
3.2.a To do this, you must attach your character to your forum account. This is done on the Edit Account section on the website.
3.2.b On the raid planner you can sign up for raids, stating which character you want to raid with, your preferred role for that evening, a tick box to say whether you might be late, and any additional notes you may want to add.

3.3 Raids will be confirmed the night beforehand. Check to see if you are confirmed or placed on standby.
3.3.a If accepted, or put on standby, you must be at the entrance, with consumables and reagents, by invite time.
3.3.b If you do not turn up at raid time, you will be replaced by another guild member.
3.3.c It also helps raid leaders if you sign up/off on the raid lanner, so that they don’t have to chase around, trying to find out if you are available.

3.4 You are required to find out the tactics of the boss(es) that you are running that night.

3.5 To be part of the raiding team you are expected to have an up to date ventrilo client installed.
3.5.a Preferably, have a microphone for easy communication in the raid

3.6 Have your required raiding addons installed and up to date. These include a boss addon (such as Deadly Boss Mods, Deux Vous Encounters, or BigWigs), threat meters for tanks and dps, and usually a good unit frames addon for all members of the raid.

3.7 Come to the raid prepared! And no, not your staffs, potions and trinkets, come real life prepared! Make sure that you have fed, watered and walked any pets that you may have. Make sure that you have eaten/drunk, and that you aren’t going to wet yourself mid boss!
3.7.a There will be a break half way through the raid, during which you can get a drink etc. Length of this break will be told by your current raid leader.

3.8 If you need to go afk, tell the raid leader beforehand.

3.9 Come with your character prepared! This includes the following;
3.9 a. Reagents and Consumables.
3.9 b. Repaired Equipment
3.9 c. Money for repairs
3.9 d. Offspec gear etc. (if applicable)

3.10 Conduct during a raid;
3.10.a Do not criticize another raid member. If you have a problem with another member in the raid, tell the raid leader.
3.10.b Listen to what you are told, either through ventrilo, or the chat system.
3.10.c Be prepared to take criticism and advice from the raid leader. This is not meant in a detrimental way, we are all trying to achieve the same goal.
3.10.d Remember that raid leaders are busy before, during and after the raid. If you have any unrelated questions or conversations, please try and refrain from doing them until after the raid.
3.10.e The raid leaders final word is law

3.11 Raid Leaders will select the team for the night, the day before.
Selection is based on;
3.11 a. A rotation schedule. We try and make sure that each member gets their fair share of raid time
3.11 b. Your gear/skill levels. For example, we are not prepared to take a barely ICC 10 geared person to an extension on 25 man Lich King. Not only is this unfair on the other members of your team, but it’s unfair on you coming, and wiping all night.
3.11 c. The bosses that are planned for that night. If you need gear from earlier bosses of a dungeon/instance, you may be taken so that you can become on par with the rest of the raiders.
3.11 d. The raid leaders decision is final.
3.11 e. If you were not picked for your teams run on a certain date, then still sign for the rest of the week, we may still need you!

3.12 You are NOT allowed to PuG an official raid, unless given permission by your raid leading officer. This will be enforced heavily in future.
3.12.a Current official raids are ICC 25 and ICC 10.

3.13 Twenty-Five man raids are run on a dkp (Dragon Kill Points) system, 10 mans are run on a rolling system.

4. The DKP System

4. The DKP System is designed to reward raiders for their time and effort in 25 man runs, in a clear way for all to understand and read about.

4.1 DKP is used to bid for items in 25 man runs.
4.1.a DKP is bid in increments of 5. E.g
Master Looter: [Belt of Awesomeness] MainSpec Bids
Rockbeard: 5
Martie: 10
Rockbeard: 15
And so it goes on.

4.2 Items will be bid on, first by main spec bidders, then offspec.

4.3 There is one DKP Pool, where you earn your points

4.4 DKP from the Wrath of the Lich King Expansion will be halved and carried over into the Cataclysm expansion.

4.5 DKP is earned by;
4.5 a. Signing up for the raid and being on time (2 points)
4.5 b. Staying for the full raid time (8 points)
4.5 c. Killing a boss (1 point per boss)
4.5 d. Killing a progression boss (5 points)
4.5 e. Staying after the raid (1 point per 30 minutes)

4.6 You can lose DKP by;
4.6 a. Not turning up to a raid you have signed for
4.6 b. Minor and Major Rule Breakings
4.6 c. AFK without asking permission
4.6 d. All DKP losses will be at the raid leaders discretion.

4.7 Raiders and Members get loot priority over trial members.

4.8 If members are tied on dkp, and are of same rank, a /roll will take place between the two members.

4.9 DKP can be viewed on the VK website.

4.10 Any questions about the system or queries on your current DKP standing can be answered by an officer.

Thanks, the Vicious Kittens Council
